How to Add Video to your content - How to add Images/photos which will display on page - Easy Online Classifieds Service

Please Pardon Me  I have a Speech problem caused by a doctor years ago which sometimes slurs my speech a bit and makes me cough. Sorry bout that!

IMPORTANT: When adding content to any of our sites, you can NOT use the Embed Tag, NOR javascript. What happens is that if you try to do so is that Your content will NOT DISPLAY as you intend and will instead write the text Sanitized in the content. For embedding YouTube videos right in your content we have a BB tag you can use (see the tutorial below as to how to use that).

For putting Maps to your location in your page, just create a LINK to your Map Location using google maps, yahoo maps, etc and do NOT TRY to use the map Embed or Javascript code as these tags will get kicked back and insert the word Sanitized instead!

When doing a Copy/Paste operation to copy and paste content from another location Text should work just fine and in some cases Images as well (Depends on the source code for the image). Trying to copy/paste Java script, Iframe, embed tag elements and other such things will NOT WORK however just so that you know.

To make sure YOUR content is displayed as intended, Create it, REVIEW IT, and if not as intended FIX IT by editing it until it looks right to you!

It is also very important that you do NOT BREAK OUR PAGE LAYOUT! Postings which break our page layout are removed without notices just so you know! The most common thing people do which can break someones page layout is TRYING to make an image load into the page which is TOO BIG to load into that section of the page. This is a fairly COMMON mistake but the fix is to use our bb code methods and such as outlined below!

You can include up to a 320 pixel in width image in the main body of the page (no larger)..
Once you ARE logged in, you will wish to go to the Settings Link which allows you to change your privacy settings, or modify other information about yourself which you can opt to keep Private, OR opt to make publicly viewable to other members of that site. Our Community portal sites do offer a Friends List type of module (sort of like Facebook) in that you Can add Friends (other members of the site) to your Friends List!

You can also do a Members Search (have to be a member and logged in to use it) for other members who have like interests. Members can ONLY VIEW that information a member has opted to make viewable to other members (once again much like Facebook).

Posting Rights to Members:

In general members can post in the General Classifieds, Forums, Recipes menu, Jokes, PM system (Private Messenger). Advertising is only allowed in the Classifieds and in the News Columns if you are a news columnist at the site so be aware that marketing offers and such in the other sections is NOT ALLOWED. Doing so will get the post removed.

We also have other classified sections depending on what site you are a member of. The other Classified sections require setting your account to access/post within them. The member wanting enhanced posting rights to the other Classifieds Sections, or as a News Columnist MUST request it!

The Event Calendar of upcoming events (If the site you are a member of has one) is for area Community type events of importance and NOT for marketing purposes! Members who are in the know about the local area events can request calendar access so that they may post such events at the site.

The General Classifieds are FREE for members of the site. General Classifieds include Garage sale notices, Items for sale, Lost and found, and more.

The Business, Boats, Automotive, Coupons, and Realty Classifieds are a pay for service but are very inexpensive. Members must request access to these other classified sections in order to place ads within them.

News Columns and YOU! A member who is knowledgeable enough about a topic matter to write about it once a week can request we make them a News Columnist for that topic matter. News Columns are Syndicated (Like the Dear Abby column is a syndicated column for instance).

Marketing and Advertising is Built In! Most of our site have a top of the line News Letter. We include upcoming events for the area, Classifieds members have posted for the week, and maybe some blurb sections from any News Columns members have added during the week in every newsletter!

The sites below are our some of our Fecn News Portal sites which allow for memberships and participation within. Most allow for Free General Classifieds once the person is a member. Any site listed above which offers COUPONS will also have the coupons listed at: http://mydiscountcoupons.net/ and other sites we own / manage.

To see new Categories added in any section of our sites IE: Forums, Jobs, Recipes, Classifieds, Jokes, etc - A member must request it. To request such as a member, login to the site you are a member of, and send a  PM message to us: owner and we will let you know when it is done!

Although the MAIN things members will wish to participate in at any of our sites will be the Forums, and Classifieds, we have other sections available a member in good standing may request once we know them. If you are someone who abides by the rules, and have taken our tutorials.
  1. Photo Gallery access for you shutter bugs out there - Private Galleries available for viewing by anyone, but posting limited to a person are available too!
  2. Upcoming event calendar access to post YOUR clubs, lodges, community type event notices
  3. Surveys, Polls, Quizzes can be created to fill a particular need a member in good standing wishes to have setup
  4. A member can have their own Forum if they are going to moderate it - Either Private, Membership based, or Public as they wish
  5. A member knowledgeable about a subject matter and who can Write about it effectively CAN have their own Syndicated News Column! News columns are highly effective and many are also Dynamically linked back to at various sites across the USA.
News Columns are meant to be about subject matter of general interest to general viewers of the site just like a regular News Paper Column such as Dear Abby, etc. Columns are encouraged for such as: Fishing, Hunting, Family Living, Worship, Automotive channel, Lawn and Gardening, Travel, Electronics and Computers, Investing strategies, How To Home fix ups, and anything else NOT primarily targeted to a specific business.

Channel OWNERS ARE Allowed to do some light marketing for their business or others if they wish but the main focus for ANY channel is to HELP our sites readers LEARN something about that topic.

A Fishing Channel for instance which is operated by someone who has their own Fishing Store or bait and Tackle shop would be an excellent opportunity for them to expand their sales opportunities and customer bases  by simply running their own News Channel about Fishing in the areas their business is located within...

Such a thing would serve OUR sites viewers well, and at the same time serve the fishing stores business very well if they do a good job of things in their Fishing Channel News column of course. Such Channels ARE Syndicated automatically FOR YOU which offers a great deal of Power for your News Channel!

ANY of our community portal sites would make an excellent platform for an Online News Paper or periodical! They can have several Editors Assigned to the SAME periodical (saving the Main editor time) JUST like a regular news paper has many editors for various sections! You can include Photos/video/FULL rich HTML content and they are Syndicated just like most of the sites other content!

Remember that our Main principle and Mission is basically 'The news as created by those it matters the most to'... That person is YOU and others who reside in your local area and want to hear the news THEY want to hear, and types of content THEY WISH to learn more about.. Our Network of such Open Community sites offer just that :)

Our Basic Posting Rules which apply to forums, classifieds, jokes, recipes and all other content:
  • All postings MUST be done in the English language
  • Do NOT use ALL CAPS for your content. An occasional all capped word is fine, but keep it limited Using all caps is the SAME as SHOUTING and shouting is very rude so just don't do it.
  • Do NOT break our page layout!  If you plan on using images/video/etc within your content
  • Advertise or Market your business or Products/Services in the Classifieds ONLY No where else is this allowed
  • When adding a Classified put it into an appropriate Category or it will be removed! If you do not see an appropriate one, suggest it to us.
  • When posting to ANY section of the site post to an Appropriate Category or forum thread, once again request it if you do not see it.
  • The PM system is there to allow Safe Contacts for other members of the site and or contacting us with a request. DO NOT SPAM us or a member
  • SPAM is not allowed at our site. Spam is also KEYWORD Stuffing whereas you create a post and use the same wording/phrases over and over and over and over, - you get the idea... IT does NOT help that item in the search engines one iota and will only serve to have the posting removed!
  • Do NOT SLAM other members of the site you are a member of. Agree to Disagree is fine but do so with courtesy always!
  • NO ADULT images/content is allowed at our site period!
  • No LINKS to sites which offer Adult Content, Phising type sites, or sites which make the person load a Pop Up upon entering the site (very rude)
  • No content which automatically starts to play Music/Voice/or Video is allowed. You must do so ONLY by making the visitor click on something to start the video/music/or voice message ONLY

     Images/Photos    .  This is not difficult to get this right, but takes a little knowledge and perhaps the Right Tools to ensure your images are not too large to display at various sites on the web. Not just our sites, BUT ANYWHERE on the web which allows for image uploads. Bimp Lite is a Great tool for resizing and renaming images as well as quickly creating Thumbnails for those images. Adding You Tube Video is easy

You must use the youtube BB code if you wish to insert a youtube video within your content. Here is an example to go by. In the Youtube video

Say you wanted to Include that video within a posting you are making at our site. Type in such as:  
[youtube]6RzcvFLPg1A[/youtube]     

EXACTLY like that as shown in the bold text.

You can use the above Youtube Video code to insert a video in almost all sections of the site you are allowed to post content within. In cases whereas the Youtube video code is in between 2 = signs, normally take the part between the = signs and it will work (try it and test it yourself for the video you wish to embed)...

The YouTube BB Code listed above will work fine on our Community Portal sites, but works differently in our Goodjobsinusa.com, Americanvacationrentals.net, or our AmericanbusinessSearch.com and EasyOnlineClassifieds.com sites as they are setup differently and take different code for such things.


How to use the BB code to insert an image into your content

In our Classifieds section including the Coupons classifieds, and our Recipes Menus, you CAN upload a single photo to represent the item you are posting about. If you need more than that, you will need to use what is called the BB code. Here is how the bb code works.

Let's say you are placing an Automotive ad in the auto classifieds, have uploaded the single photo you are allowed by default, yet feel the need for more in the body portion of your ad. If you have such addionional photos for the item on the web somewhere (the extra photos will need to be on the web for this to work) then you can use the bb code to make the extra photo/photos display right in the ad :)

Example below: (examples are Working Examples you can Copy/Paste and modify for your specific needs)

The 240 part is the Width the photo will display at (remember we allow no more than 320 px in width images to display IN PAGE!)
The http://hastings-florida.com/fallfestival2011/fe-2011.jpg part is the actual location of the image on the web!

The image/photo you wish to use MUST already be on the web somewhere of course.

NOTE: NOW the above method does NOT RESIZE the actual image at all! What it does is RESIZE the display size as included in the page - Nothing more. IF the original image itself is a HUGE IMAGE such as 1600 pixels in width, it WILL TAKE YOUR PAGE FOREVER to load because all you are doing with that huge image is resizing its display size on the page.

This method works very nicely with average sized images designed for use on the web (Where the Orignial Image is in the 100-800 pixels in width range).

If you use this easy to do bb code to insert extra photos of your products and such, Do it RIGHT ! Remember Content which Breaks our page layout is removed without notices - No Exceptions!

The images/photos you wish to use MUST already be on the web somewhere of course.

You would need to modify the above for your needs. The 32145  part can be anything you wish BUT it MUST be the same in every instance to work for you as  they are part of the photo gallery Array....

(the 32145 is part of an Array Field so those numbers/text MUST be the same for each photo in the array or the Array will Break). 

The Lightbox effect above is pretty COOL but is only going to work within our various web portals as it is a BB code thing few other sites are likely to have available. The above examples are REAL and will work if you insert them into your content at one of our community portal sites.

The Click to Start our Fall Festival 2011 Photo Show part above can say anything you like as it is merely Link Text.
Where you see the photo1, photo2, photo3 etc parts, these are Photo Descriptions for that photo - Use what you need for these of course.
You are NOT allowed to use any charactors in the above code except letters from a-z and or Numbers from 0-9 and the dash (-) if needed.
Array Fields above as seen are separated by the | sign so do NOT remove them or your photos in your gallery will not function!

You can use the above examples in your content/modify the above code to reflect YOUR images and such of course.

The MAIN advantage of using such a thing is that you CAN include Dozens of Photos in a single posting such as a Photo Gallery type of thing RIGHT in your page as posted here and that page WILL still load quickly as the images are really NOT used until the viewer clicks on something... Fast, Efficient and Great looking...

Please use ONLY WEB READY IMAGES (images in the .gif, png, or .jpg formats and of a size no larger than 800 pixels in width for a nice display)!

Yes! We said up to 800 pixels in width for this sort of thing since this Lightbox effect does NOT LOAD IN THE PAGE itself but loads in a popup window. This method allows you to include much larger sized images than our suggested range of up to 320 pixels in width for images which display on the page itself.

This on a webmasters scale is a level 2 thing to do on a scale of 1-10... NOT hard, but requires attention.. IF you need something like this done and can not figure it out at all, we CAN of course help you with it.. Email, Phone support is Free. If we have to do work FOR YOU - It is NOT going to be Free!

EASY ONLINE CLASSIFIEDS SITE AND SERVICE

Our Newest Service is our Way Cool Easy Online Classifieds service. Free Classifieds for anyone in the USA, Pro business listings for a reasonable cost which are way more powerful than the Online Yellow Pages directory and listings service, and much cheaper for what you get at the same time.

Our Easy Online Classifieds site has a Mobile Template which will switch the viewer of the site over to the Mobile Optimized Theme automatically. I have tested this feature ONLY using googles GoMo service at this point as I do not have an iphone. Likely MANY Mobile users will find the page loads SLOWLY on their mobile device or perhaps not even at all. That is the way of things. I believe as these devices continue to evolve that many sites will become mobile friendly.

I suggest that WHEN YOU CREATE your Listing at our service, that you create your text and other elements ---> Select it all ---> change the FONT size to a larger size such as a size of 10 should work nicely I believe (so that the text may be easier to read on a Mobile Device)...

Mobile Developers suggest strickly use of CSS and not Tables for formatting. We will likely do something like that in the near future.

For Tips on HOW to embed a Youtube Video right into your page using the easyonlineclassifieds site eocvideo.wmv is the short tutorial you need to review. Adding a YouTube video at this site works differently than our other sites listed on this page so take note of that!

Basically select the Youtube video you wish to embed in your content -->  use the Custom Embed option at YouTube --> and set the Width to 350 in size. Then copy/paste that code into your content (as HTML of course)...

Also the Easy Online Classifieds service ALLOWS you to upload and include Images/Photos within your ad/listing. Those photos are automatically added to a cool Photo Gallery type of display FOR YOU when you upload them.

IF you wish to include a photo/image in the Body portion of your listing
 
You will need to do so via HTML code . Remember Images/Photos at this site can be NO LARGER than 350 pixels in width so IF you do this, do it RIGHT or the entire posting MAY be removed without notices!...

Inserting the above code (as HTML) into a Page (any page anywhere) will display a nice Animated image. Remember you can NOT include ANY IMAGE PHOTO larger than 350 pixels in width in the body portion of your ad at the Easy Online Classifieds site. We are VERY STRICT about such rules as they are there for a Reason so respect them.

The use of the BBCODE to display images inline in your content is NOT included at this site! (will not work). The above Img tags marked in Red type above WILL WORK however and it is easier to use in fact. Use it well - Wisely - And according to our simple RULES...

Are Photos/Videos Important to include in your Content?

Without a doubt they ARE. People like Both so if you have both your listing will perform on average of 25% BETTER for what your listing is about than others who have NOT included these simple to do things.

You do NOT need to use the included code in Red above in your body content (that is an addon thing you can do) as the system already allows you to upload and add photos by default and displays them in a Cool Photo Gallery type of effect...

PHOTOS you upload at this service CAN include Descriptions and such which are fully searchable (checkout the sites Advanced Search option) and you will see there is a Search field JUST FOR IMAGES/PHOTO searches available... Such Searches returns results on the actual Image/Photo of course, as well as the SITE LINK those images are related back to (which would be YOUR SITE as listed at easyonlineclassifieds)...

Very Cool, Very Powerful, and very interesting for your sites viewers alike.. Top it off with an In Page display of YOUR Youtube video or a Related Video to what you do, and you have content interesting enough for others to WANT to send YOUR page to their facebook, twitter, and other friends..

Now KNOW that the Easy Online Classifieds system is setup using the best of the best in online Directory type business listings features! It is up to YOU to use them as the ad placer. Question: Do you create/manage content for others within these sites listed here?
Answer: NO we do NOT. Content added to any of the above sites just as is true of ANY online service today MUST be created by the Owner of that content or business staff for the company. There are reasons for this but especially the fact that this is LAW!

Now, ONCE YOU have created an account at whatever service it is above, and created your Listing at that service, If you feel you need someone knowledgeable about content creations and such to go in and EDIT your listing on your behalf to make it look Great, we CAN do that for you.

We charge $50.00 per hour for such work with a one hour minimum which must be paid in advance via PayPal.

One Reason things have to be done this way is when YOU create your Account and Add your listing/ad/business listing/etc at a site, YOU OWN that content and as such YOU can go in and Edit/Manage that content as it belongs to YOU as the owner.

IF you hire us to help you edit your content YOU can still always go in and Edit it further anytime you wish since you are the one who originally Created (Started) it in the first place.

Since we own all the sites above, we can go into any listing within them and Edit a posters content easily! If you want to hire someone else on to help you with your postings/listings, you will need to give them your Login information for your account at that service to allow them to help you with your content.

Question: Can I add PayPal buttons within my content?
Answer: NO! What you CAN do however is include a LINK to PayPals Send Money page at https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_send-money-transfer&send_method=domestic&nav=0.2.0

For this to work for you, you should include the above PayPal LINK on your page and Instruct your sites/ads viewers to make sure to use yourname@yoursite.com (whatever YOUR Paypal Email address is) when they checkout via Paypal.

Obviously this ONLY works for you as a Seller of something IF YOU have a PayPal account!

The Caveats here is that DOING this will expose YOUR PayPal email address to ANYONE (including SPAMMERS). AND doing so for items you may only have a single one of (such as Antiques, cars, etc) may cost you money as you can ONLY SELL a one of a kind item ONE TIME!

Under the LAW, If someone PAYS YOU for something you ARE required to deliver that product under the law This is regardless of whether or not you are sold OUT of that item! IF you take payment for something, you HAVE to deliver it OR refund them their money (which costs you Charge Back fees)..

So, I suggest if you wish to take payments for something you offer for Sale and you DO have a PayPal account allowing you to take such payments that you TELL interested parties on the web to simply EMAIL YOU via your ads built in SAFE Contact form (which hides your email account) with their request to BUY whatever it is you have.

THEN you can email them the LINK (the above link) as well as your paypal email address to use at Checkout time.. Easy, Simple to do, and actually is the preferred method for one of a kind items.

Question: How often should I be checking me email and such?
Answer: At least two times every day including weekends and holidays. Also make sure your email WORKS and any online email to type forms WORK. National stats show that out of 100 very NICE websites out there today that 15 of those have Email forms on the site which do NOT WORK. People who visit YOUR site and can not contact you via email do NOT COME BACK!

The study further goes on to say that you should NEVER put your email address on business cards as they too have some 10-20% indications that these also DO NOT WORK and go no where as time goes on and email addresses and such CHANGE for the owner.

Put a LINK instead to your Domain based site on ALL your business cards (but NOT the email address) as you can always change the email address at your site much easier than change those 5,000 business cards which proudly display a LONG GONE Email account.


Just remember that Great looking content which is meaningful and of Real Value for your viewers is something that others LIKE to send to their Facebook Friends and Twitter Followers ! Taking even a little time to LEARN HOW to make your content something others will enjoy referring to others they know is time well spent and you will prosper from that time in many ways and for many Years to come :)
